Waterman Seminars

This seminar series provides a scientific stage for outstanding internal progress reports as well as presentations of national and international guests of the IPK on the field of Bioinformatics. Moreover it serves as a platform to join the Bioinformatics at the IPK as well as to help integrating it with all other departments.
It was named after one of the most exceptional scientists in the field of Bioinformatics, Michael S. Waterman, honouring both his personality and his distinguished and impressive work during the last decades. His work significantly contributed to the development of modern biology and it represents a milestone in the combination of computer science and biology.
Each particular seminar will be chaired individually depending on its topic or by the host of an external guest respectively. Further information will be provided on the IPK web site and by e-mail. Upcoming seminars will be announced by bulletin as well.
